1-10
Verstappen made a good start off the line and stays ahead. Hamilton gets ahead of Alonso as Russell tries to make a move on Alonso at turns 2 and 3. Sainz and Perez battle it out as Sainz goes onto the kerb and eventually takes the place from Perez. Hulkenberg has maintained a solid start running in the top 6. The two McLarens are running well in P7 and P8 keeping up with each other. Lap 4, Alonso has clipped the wall at turn 4 but seems to be running okay and is within DRS range of Hamilton for P2. Lap 5, Hamilton is doing well in the Mercedes to keep up with Verstappen with the gap just under 2 seconds. Lap 7, Piastri has managed to get passed Magnussen for P6 with Norris now close behind. Sargeant has stopped the car in Sector 2 as the VSC is deployed a critical message for Sargeant puts an end to his race.
10-20
Alonso and Hamilton are running very close to each other in the tense battle for p2. Hulkenberg pits as Norris overtakes him and Leclerc closely follows Norris to try and make a move in the battle for 7th. Lap 12, Russell has hit the wall and a safety car is deployed, Verstappen Hamilton and Alonso also pits as there was a close call for Alonso and Hamilton in the pits. Russell has managed to get his car into the pits and is able to re-join the race now running p19. Norris and Albon also had a close call in the pits where Norris may have also had an unsafe release. Lap 16, safety car is ending and Verstappen backs up the field and prepares for his restart with everyone getting away clean. Lap 17, we are seeing the McLarens battling it out for p10 as Norris is noted for an unsafe release and Piastri looks for a move on the main straight.
20-30
Albon and Magnussen have been swapping places and trying to overtake using the main straight. Ferrari have reported to Leclerc that Sainz is not going to try and overtake Leclerc who is running in p4 and on a different strategy to his team mate. Perez is running P6 up 6 places. Lap 28, Stroll is coming in for his second stop of the race with a lovely pit stop from his crew as he is pushed wide by Magnussen.
30-40
Lap 30, Verstappen has been reporting problems with his tyres. Lap 34, Russell has managed to get past 3 cars and is now up to P16 as Gasly comes into the pits for the hard tyres. Lap 35, Magnussen and De Vries both clip each other and go into the run off as De Vries locks up and Russell takes the inside line to overtake both drivers. Lap 37, Magnussen has pit along with a Ocon and Bottas. Lap 38, Norris has been given a 5 second penalty for unsportsmanlike behaviour as Sainz pits and comes out P5 with Perez attempting the undercut the lap previously.
40-50
Lap 41 Hamilton is into the pits with pit crews up and down the pit lane making very good pit stops. Lap 42 Verstappen has come into the pits for medium tyres and comes out with a 7 second gap to Alonso. Lap 44, Gasly uses DRS to get past Hulkenberg for P14 as Hamilton sets the fastest lap still running in P3. Lap 46, Russell is having a good recovery race as he chases down Albon for P7 both drivers running on the hard compound tyres.
50-60
Further down the field we see Tsunoda going down the back straight over taking Hulkenberg for p15. Lap 51 Albon who is running in P7 is the lead driver in a long DRS change running down to Norris and Stroll in P11 and 12. Lap 55, Russell has had to retire the car as he has a problem with the brakes and apologises to the team over the radio.
60-70
The running order has been same for the last few laps as Verstappen is running a 7 second lead from Alonso and Hamilton just under 2 seconds behind him. Then it’s the two Ferraris, Perez and the beginning of the Alex Albon’s DRS train. Lap 63, Hamilton is trying to close the gap to Alonso who has been trying to nurse some rear brake problems. Lap 64, Norris gets passed Bottas under braking at the final corner as Bottas tried to fight back but Norris was late on the brakes. Lap 67, Norris has reported that Ocon’s rear wing is looking lose as Norris looks for a move at the hair pin but is unable to get past. Lap 69, Perez has pit for soft tyres to go for the fastest lap. The final lap of the race as we see Verstappen take the chequered flag to equal the great Ayrton Sennas race wins. Red bull have now achieved 100 race wins as a constructor as Alonso crosses the line P2 and Hamilton P3. Norris and Ocon have a tight battle to the very end with Norris having to go on the run off but doesn’t manage to pull the move off and Ocon comes home P8.
