Max Verstappen dominated another grand prix after a stunning sector 3 in qualifying put him on pole position for Monaco. Despite late heavy rain, he was able to bring it home for Red Bull and take his first victory at Monaco. Fernando Alonso was able to finish P2 after a strong weekend for him and Aston Martin proving that there is pace in their car on a Saturday. Stand out performer was Esteban Ocon, who finished 3rd for Alpine having benefited from Leclerc's penalty on Saturday as well as producing his own amazing qualifying performance and was also voted as DOTD by the fans.

Lewis Hamilton finished 4th for Mercedes as well as picking up the fastest lap. He was followed by his team mate George Russell who finished P5 after picking up a 5 second penalty for an unsafe re-join which saw Perez understeer and hit the back of George's car. Hometown hero Charles Leclerc finished P6 after a penalty in qualifying that led to a 3 grid-place penalty from P3, the bad luck continuing for the Monegasque driver. Alpine picked up a solid result with Gasly finishing P7 which keeps them ahead of McLaren in the constructors championship by 18 points. Carlos Sainz finished P8 after suffering a spin in the treacherous conditions at turn 5 causing him to fall back down the order. The drivers at McLaren were the final two to roundoff the top 10 with Norris in 9th and Piastri in 10th who has been doing well at McLaren in his first season in F1.

Valtteri Bottas finished P11 after being stuck behind De Vries for a lot of the race meaning that his tyres fell off towards the end of the race. The Alpha Tauri of Nyck De Vries finished P12 with a fairly decent day on the Dutch driver's side of the garage. Zhou Guanyu was able to finish P13 for Alfa Romeo as Albon finished P14 for Williams. Yuki Tsunoda finished P15 somewhat struggling from his P9 qualifying position on Saturday. After a crash yesterday Sergio Perez finished P16 and spent time during the race gathering data for Verstappen with limited opportunity for overtaking in Monaco. Hulkenberg finished P17 after receiving a 10 second time penalty due to not serving his penalty properly in the pit lane. Logan Sargeant also picked up a 5 second penalty after speeding in the pit lane putting him in P18. Monaco had 2 retirements which were Kevin Magnussen and Lance Stroll who both had to retire due to damage and issues throughout the race.

Formula 1 travels to Spain for one of the first proper circuits on the calendar. Ferrari are set to bring upgrades along with Red Bull and we should see a more clearer impact that the the side pods have had on the Mercedes.
